Like many people in the NE looking for relief from the cost of fuel oil, I purchased a 3500L from a local dealer. The first year was a pretty steep learning curve. From the get go I wasn't happy with the incredible amount of noise which comes out of this machine. Sitting prominently in the livingroom it's difficult ot hear anything but the whirring and grinding. Five seasons on and we've ...

Man, I have had this unit for 4 years and my family just loves it. I have not replaced one part yet, not even the back brickboard. We have our unit in the basement of our home (my man cave) and the only complaint that I have is everyone else has taken over my spot of the home. The tech service is great and when I followed their advice on installation, I have a heating machine.

If this stove would work continuously without repair it would be a good unit. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to keep running in a consistant basis. Be prepared to replace both auger and stirrer motors on a regular basis, stirrer bushings wear out every year, and learn to weld. This stove has broken the stirrer rod, along with the fire pot serveral times. Slag/clinkers build up on the ...

We are 4 months into our first season using the stove and are incredibly disappointed with performance. We burn a hard/soft mix of wood pellets. Pros: 1. The unit is very efficient and heats our 100+ y.o. house well. Cons: 1. NOISY auger and stirrer. We have to turn the stove down to setting 1 or OFF to watch a movie in our living room. On a cold winter day, that's sad. 2. ...

I purchased mine in 2004. So far I've gone though 6 auger motors and just now the stir motor is shot on it too. (fyi: Don't go to american energy systems for motor replacements!). The stir motor runs to often and it's noisy. I've had to replace the stir rod and the pot. When I run corn, it messes up the side of my house. It doesn't do corn very well so I've resorted to wood pellets (better ...

I have bought a Magnum from a friend of mine because it put out TOO MUCH heat for his house. I have a house about twice the size and installed it in my basement. the heat it gives warms the entire house and is on only medium (3) heat. My friend bought a smaller model for his house. I am very satisfied with the stove even if it is 4-5 years old.
