Quadra-Fire Mt Vernon AE

The Mt. Vernon AE is engineered and designed to operate automatically, not only adjusting temperature on the fly but also different settings for user-selectable fuels. The stove will burn corn, standard wood pellets, wheat, or sunflower seeds. A 7-day programmable thermostat is available that controls room temperature, adjusts heat output, regulates the stove's autoclean cycle, and monitors built-in diagnostics. Made of cast iron throughout, the Mt. Vernon can burn at over 83% efficiency and provides five manual or automatic heat settings.

We bought our Mt Vernon Insert in 2007, to help reduce our electric heating bill. Overall, best purchase we've made for our home. We had just purchased our house the year before and had struggled with high electric bills, uncomfortable cold room temperatures, and a wood stove that was only of use to us on the weekend, when we had time to babysit the fire. Our Mt Vernon stove warmed our house ...

I wrote a review on Jan 24th & just wanted to make an update. This stove has been flawless, has not missed a beat starts up with no miss fires & really puts out the heat. I clean it about every three days & it's way easier than the Quadra 1000 unit I had before t o clean. I certainly don't know why many people are having issues but I have had none...knock on wood!

I owned a QuadraFire 1200 Classic Bay for nine years before taking the plunge with the AE last March. Two things stand out: The autoclean feature is most appreciated, and this stove burns just about ANYTHING. There's a guy about 10 miles from me (Hudson Valley NY) who compresses hay and goldenrod into pellets, and squeezes 8K BTU out of 'em. My dealer told me that these will burn well on the ...

The Mt Vernon AE is great, extremely quiet & even more efficient than my older unit. I certainly hope I get just as many yrs out of this unit. Like other reviewers, my stove eats ignitors. When it works, it works great. However, it is sensitive to the quality of the fuel. I use a locally produced hard wood pellet that are labeled premium quality. However, I must select the utility grade setting on the AE to get them to burn efficiently. Also the stove MUST be kept clean!!! That means you must remove the cast iron panel and clean the ...
