we bought our stove November of 2011, with the first year the blower motor went out, now 14 months later, both the blower an the exhaust motor have gone out together. must have been a date!! love the looks of the stove, heats the house vey nicely, a bitch to clean in my option. Dead of winter when our old stove quit and wee were in desperate need of a stove, the wife loved this stove, but had I ...Overall Performance:

Had the stove for 5 years. Blower motor quit last year but when I took it completely apart, found it had some fuzz keeping the blade from turning. Cleaned it and it works fine. Fans are very loud and squeak at times. The ignitor quit- very expensive to replace and the tube it sits in rusted and fell apart.Overall Performance:

We got this installed 5 years ago by the dealer, whose shop is a block from our home. Had NO trouble with it except a back up small fire in the storage box, which was due to not cleaning it thoroughly and using very poor pellets. Lignetics are the cleanest burning in this stove, and they let the stove run better. They burn down to fine powder like powdered sugar. I clean the entire stove about ...Overall Performance:

I used the stove for two winters with great results. It cut our oil useage in half, never bothered with the woodstove again. Much easier to keep clean than a woodstove. Seemed to work best on the LG pellets, but I burned Maine Woods mostly as I got a good price on them at work. I've moved to a smaller place and will get an Enviro Mini.Overall Performance:

We have loved this stove for five years and this year needed the blower replaced. First, they sent the wrong one to our repairman. THEN the one sent required a mounting bracket which can't be found by the manufacturer, not listed as a part and our repairman has now disappeared! What good is a stove if it can't be fixed!!!!!!!!Overall Performance:

we have had the enviro empress insert for 2 months. Continually shuts off with unburned pellets in firebox. The circuit was replaced 2 weeks ago to fix issue, but seems even worse now. Constant loud humming and rarrling noises. Waiting on new glass door. Glass door gets black within 30 minutes of use. We clean insert every 2 days but doesn't seem to help. May end up exchanging for something that ...Overall Performance:

bought this stove in nov. 2010, its been great, other than you have to keep it clean like any other wood burning stove. had a harman , put 500.00 in to it and the dealer still could not fix it and no help from the manufacture. so far so good!Overall Performance:

I live in Campbell River I bought this stove 4 years ago now, it was a new model. I was out of town when I saw it, and bought it. The dealer promised 6-8 weeks delivery, that was before Christmas, it arrived in August. Then of course they wanted immideate payment. The stove gave me no end of grief. To date I'm on my fourth circuit board, 3rd daughter board, sevond burn pot liner, second ...Overall Performance:

I have had the empress insert for a fire place, 35,000 btu. It heats 80 percent of my house which is 3000 sqft two floors. It is good to 0f then my forced hot water kick on to help a bit. I have had no issues in two years. Cleaning is more then they said. Ash has to be cleaned out every two days, and a complete pipe clean every year. The fly ash will darken your celings if not careful. It is a ...Overall Performance:

Bought the insert for my home 2 year using it. after burning about 3 tons cleaning manufacture recommended time each year we have a smoke out event. More smoke comes in the house than out vent. Had to call the fire department to ventilate our home. This stove may look nice, but does not heat up a 400 sq foot room. It cost me way too much, have to clean it every three days last year when it worked. This year the fuse keeps blowing. The dealer has been here 5 times to change the circuit board and ignitor, no luck. Tommorrow, he will exchange it. Do not buy it. Get a Home Depot one.Overall Performance:

Bought my Enviro Empree in Oct, 2007 and had problems with both fans in unit. VERY HARD to find the right pellets to use so burn pot does not fill up so fast . Soft wood pellets are the way to go for this stove to work right, but they are hard to find. This year I have tried four types of hard wood pellets and still have problems with the burn pot filling up to quick, I have to turn off stove and ...Overall Performance:

The combustion van had to be replaced in the first year. It now has an upgraded fan but after 2 months of burning the fan is getting very loud. We have just finished our 3rd heating season with the Enviro Empress Pellet Stove. Have had fan problems with it since the day it was delivered. So far have replaced the exhaust fan 3 times and the circulating two times. And, that's when burning only 2 tons of pellets/year. I hate the stinking thing like poison. I did the math and thus far the Enviro Empress has added about $2000 to our ...Overall Performance:

Ethecal--same story here. Empress installed fall '08, ran great 1st year. 2009 multiple service calls for auger, lazy fire, smoke leaking into the room. 36 hours after the last service call (Jan '10) heard auger clunking, noticed smoke billowing out the side of my house. Stove did not shut down, despite FIRE in the pellet hopper. 6 inches of flames in the hopper....doused with water, called ...Overall Performance:

This isn't meant to trash the Enviro manufacturer, product or dealer/installer but a description of how things are unfolding. ...After seriously looking at pellet stoves in autumn of 2009, we took the plunge in January of 2010 and returned to Cloyne Ontario to the Hearth and Home store. They carry the Enviro line so we had a second look, and chose a Enviro Evolution pellet stove. On the front ...Overall Performance:

We bought the empress in 2006 for supplemental heat, and like others paid a good $2500 since we liked its form and fit and. It puts out great heat, so we use if for about 60-70% heating needs. The first season it worked fine, and we got used to things. Shortly thereafter, the convection fan went bad- this is a classic squirrel cage design that should last 10 years! $365 including labor to ...Overall Performance:

I live in Reno a moderate climate but can get and stay cold for Dec & Jan. I purchased an Empress insert Nov '08 and had researched pellet stoves for about 1 &1/2 mos. I have had my Empess insert for six months. I have virutally heated my house with a 35000 btu fireplace insert and supplement with a small heat lamp in the kitchen. My house is 3500 sqaure feet up and down. Much of the heat goes upstairs to the bedrooms due to my center stair situation. I have cut my propane use from 300 a month down to 300 every 3 months. Not a horrible stove but I wouldn't buy one again. Poorly designed controls that make it difficult to maintain the desired temperature in the house. The auger motor causes the stove to vibrate and can be quite annoying in a quiet room. Also very difficult to get any help from the manufacturer. A friend has the Enviro and his is probably in the trash if someone wants to try it out.Overall Performance:

I have owned a Windsor for 4.5 years now. Your Empress model is the redesigned version of mine. First off, let me start by saying that most people have unrealistic expectations. These stoves, like most mechanical devices take time to get used to. They are affected by the quality of pellet burned - after all this time, I only buy Lignetics despite their cost - they just work better in this stove. ...Overall Performance:

My Empress has not worked from day one. Bay Stoves has been back 3 times, replacing motherboards, vacuum hoses, and looking puzzled for hours each visit. We purchased one of these last year and are trying to make our way through our first winter with it...awful. This thing eats through pellets like nobody's business. Bought this stove Sept. 2009. Immediately had to replace main board- the dealer replaced it (under warranty?). Has operated flawlessly since. Follow up to my review. In all due respect to the review of bob K, I would contact my dealer. You should not have the problems you indicated. When I very first ran my stove, I had the same problem and it was due to the burn pot not properly in place as well as the liner. Hopefully it might be something as simple as that. Good luck!Overall Performance:

I absolutely love this little stove. Considering it is only 35,000BTU's it works great for a small stove and is also very classy looking. It heats our circa 1825 drafty home quite well and is used primarily for our downstairs which is around 1,000 sq. ft. If it's not too cold out (teens or below), we often open the doors to the upstairs of our home. I would highly reccommend this stove!!Overall Performance:

manufacturer wants customer to pay for parts and labor in the event of warranty and then reimburse after they look at their defective part.... sounds illegal to me.... if this was going to be their warranty policy, it should be spelled out in the warranty policy in owner's manual.... NOBODY WILL DO THE WARRANTY REPAIR WORK FOR FREE so who will fix it???
