Blaze King Princess Ultra PEJ1006
At age 70 I've used or been around wood stoves all my life. We've had this one for 3 seasons now and it is by far the best. Quick starts, lots of heat, clean chimney, long burns, steady output, nice to watch the fire, easy to reload. Did I say the BEST? And the longer we have it, the prettier it seems to look. Some usage hints below: CLEANING THE GLASS: on slow burns, the glass does get smoked up. When the glass is COOL, fold a paper towel to about 3" x 3". Wet with water. Touch the ashes with the towel (this picks up some ashes) and use this to scrub the window. Refold the towel as needed to get a fresh surface and repeat until the glass is clean. Wipe with clean (wet) towel, then dry. You will be AMAZED at how well this works. MINIMIZE SMOKE ESCAPE: CLOSE the damper (CCW) just before you open the door. This way all of the air that is being pulled up the hot chimney will come in through the door. This helps but does not CURE the problem. BEST RE-LOADING PATTERN: Rake coals to the front left and right corners. Leave a low place in the center. Place larger wood in the back, stack to top. Place one long medium size piece about 3 inches from the front. Place several smaller pieces oriented front to back on top of the others, keep ends a couple of inches from the glass. This gives you a quick startup. WHEN TO ENGAGE THE CATALYST: I engage the catalyst as soon as I have a good strong flame. Often the catalyst thermometer has barely moved off cold, but it lights off quickly and burns clean.
