Jotul F 602 CB
I love my Jotul 602. In fact I love it so much that our house has two of them. The old original is hooked up in the upper floor of my garage heating my shop and an extra sleeping space. The new one, the one with the glass door and enamel finish sits proudly in our living room. Great stoves, great heat, great looks, they can't be beat.
I have only one complaint. That complaint is irksome at times an may cause occasional attacks of Tourett's syndrome. That complaint is only on the the newer, EPA approved stove. To make the the stove compliant with emission standards, Jotul has made the inside top of the stove with a sloping, permanently fixed AND stepped piece which helps burn off the smoke. This piece has the effect of making the firebox smaller (height) as you move toward the rear of the firebox. In fact, the back of the firebox is lower than the top of the door. This causes great consternation when loading. The old stove, as long as your logs fit through the door all is well, with the new stove a bit more planning is required. That's it. Otherwise great stove and you won't have to have your catalytic converter rebuilt.
