either your wood isnt seasoned or your thermostat isnt working correctly. let it heat up real good before you engage cat and then adjust thermostat in small increments. These stoves are hard to figure out. Refer to manuel.Once you understand the operation there is nothing better.30 years of burning and I had to retrain myself when I got this one.Overall Performance:

Bought a few days ago. My 3rd wood stove a little expensive. But expect to have it paid for itself in no more than 2 seasons. Beauty of a stove. As far as loading and operating. It cooks the wood doesn't burn it. Dont see a lot of flames though. But its not col d yet in western p.a. around 35 deg. More to be revealed as winter approaches . Looking foward to staying comfortable with resenable ...Overall Performance:

This is a creosote monster. You can not turn this stove below 2 or it will creosote up. Yes, it has a longer burn time than some other stoves but it also burns more wood than other stoves. Going back to the Avalon Olympic. It only produced soot...no creosote. Besides, I do not have the time to babysit the stove for 45 minutes to get it up to the active range so i can close the bypass damper.Overall Performance:

At age 70 I've used or been around wood stoves all my life. We've had this one for 3 seasons now and it is by far the best. Quick starts, lots of heat, clean chimney, long burns, steady output, nice to watch the fire, easy to reload. Did I say the BEST? And the longer we have it, the prettier it seems to look. Some usage hints below: CLEANING THE GLASS: on slow burns, the glass ...Overall Performance:

We currently have the princess in our work shop and a King in our house. We had an insert in our restaurant and a princess in our last home. By far the best stoves ever - our neighbors just built a new home - to lock-up this fall and they just puchased a Princess after seeing ours for the last 5 years.Overall Performance:

Had my Blazeking for 5 winters now and I can truthfully say it has been a pleasure. When cutting and chopping wood I know that my stove will work just as hard when it is time. Had no problems with the cat. Dry wood and the proper length stovepipe and this baby is on cruise-control. Toasty toes for sure!Overall Performance:

Most expensive stove I've ever bought but well worth every penny! I live in interior Alaska and heat only with wood even at 40-50 below. Only problem is that when cleaning the chimney in the fall, the soot falls into the secondary combustion chamber which necessitates removing the catalytic converter (not hard) and getting the wifes skinny hands inside to clean it out. We bought this stove ...Overall Performance:

from a chimney sweeps perspective this is a great stove, IF you take care of it. the catylist is fragile like they all are, and many people pull them out and "clean " them all the time, which the manufaqcturer does not reccomend. never run any kind of brush thru it, replace the little gasket around the catylist, and keep the flame guard in place, and it will serve you well. if you wonder if your ...Overall Performance:

What a great rig! I've had three Lopi stoves and/or inserts in the last 20 years, initially with good success. Four years ago upon retiring to the west slope, Northern Sierra Nevada, we bought our last Lopi, the Endeavor. It did not live up to its former glory and we started shopping a new stove. It consumed 4-1/2 cords of wood during the winter, never heated well, and made mountains of ash. (we ...Overall Performance:

We have a parlor model in the King size which has been phenominal. It heats our 1800 sq foot house with ease to 73 degrees, simply load it in the evening and forget about it till the next day. If it is below freezing during the day I load it once in the morning and once in the evening. We have left it for 2 1/2 days over the weekend on low and have had plenty of coals left to get it going when we ...Overall Performance:

OK let me clue you in on a couple of facts you MIGHT need to know. I purchased a blaze king and my roof started leaking, We about died from down drafts in the middle of the night, it was a nightmare! First when I got mine, they installed it for me, ...Overall Performance:

I am extremely worried about stove. This is my second one in 2 years. Can't prove it but the first one played a part in burning down my new home. I must say that I blame the dealer more than the stove. I love the stove so that is why I bought the second. I just pray to God there are no problems this time, I lost 48 years of my belongings.Overall Performance:

Our Ultra PEJ1006 hasn't arrived yet ( on back order ), but I'm hoping the fresh air intake can be installed into the back of the stove. We currently have a Quadrafire stove and that's how it's vented, ( out the back ). The Quadafire gobbles up the wood pretty fast and we have to empty the ashes at least twice a week.Overall Performance:

Amazing Stove, i have read other reviews some of which have been poor and I cannot understand how. This stove by far is the most efficient stove I have ever used. Our new Ultra does precisely what the company claims. Anyone with a problem is just not running the stove corectly or hasn't learned to use the thermostat correctly. We live in Nenana, Alaska, and are heating a 1400 sq foot leaky log house. We have been raving about our Blaze King Princess since installing it a month ago. We burn spruce, birch, aspen, and scrap wood. We find the stove performs well with whatever wood we put in it, as long as it is dry. No creosote in the chimney. The stove holds the fire overnight or all day long when we are at work. We have ...Overall Performance:

With white spruce and sum birch, burn times are plenty long enough to load and heat 2200 sqf in the interior of Alaska. Don't think much of that, but do the homework on our cold degree days here. My mother in law got a Vermont castings Encour. I will never question Blaze King's thought processes ever again. You can control the stove much better. piece of crap, longest burn time is 5 hours, it's been looked at and serviced and the dealer still says theres nothing wrong. the fire is completely out in the morning, only ash left with no burning embers and it is set on the low setting, catalyst engaged, the whole thing, still nothing gives a good burn time like I was promisedOverall Performance:
