Lopi Answer
The Lopi Answer uses a five-sided convection chamber to distribute heat evenly throughout your home. Cool room air is naturally drawn around the hot firebox, heated, and returned back into the room without using a blower.
The Answer's 1.6 cubic foot firebox is larger than most other small stoves, so it offers longer burn times with less reloading. It's a powerful heater for its size, yet backwall clearance allows the stove to be installed as close as 9" to a rear combustible. The Answer is also approved for hearth stove, alcove and mobile home installations.
- 18" maximum log size
- 1.6 cubic foot firebox
- 8 hour maximum burn time
- Weighs 300 pounds

We installed an Answer insert about 10 years ago. The stove supplies ~80% to 90% of our heat. We made sure not to by a stove that was too big for our space. Once we have it up and running we can maintain ~70 F to 72 F on the main floor and ~66 F in our second floor bedroom. If you shut down the air supply the burn time is in the 8 to 9 hour range. This stove like all stoves likes well ...Overall Performance:

best purchase I have made. Friends and family couldn't understand why I would remove a fireplace...until they cane over and felt the heat this generates. Gas companies do NOT want you to know this! You have to chop your own wood wood spliter) put saves so much money! Beat investment! Have to make sure the wood is dry though peeps!Overall Performance:

I've had the stove for about 10 years and recently the bottom damper doesn't do it's job. Nothing changes when I pull on it or push backwards. Is it possible to take the bottom firebricks out and get to the mechanism there? I'm going through too much wood like this.Overall Performance:

Which also brings me to the ...Overall Performance:

This Lopi goes through firewood like Grant took Richmond. I've heated with wood for 30 years, thought I'd save a few bucks by going with Lopi, and am nothing but disappointed. Only a Quadrafire for me from now on.Overall Performance:

I purchased a home in 4/2010 that came with a Lopi Answer insert (no fan). I've gone through 2 winters with it in WA state (one winter storm where I lost power for 4 days) and I've never been able to get good heat distribution. I have to literally sit right in front of it to feel heat AND keep the door open so the heat acutally comes OUT. I bought a fireplace screen just to be safe while I ...Overall Performance:

You should be getting closer to a 7-8 hour burn time. So happy you're happy but you can be happier. Make sure your wood is dry. Email me and I'll send you a sheet on how to insure it is dry. Also split your wood down a little more. erv@customfireplaceandmore.com ThanksOverall Performance:

For what I use if for here in the mountains, the stove is awesome! My Answer will burn hardwood 4-6 hours without reloading it. Perfect for our ski cabin.
